Vanity of vanities... Hotpoint is a fine example of an app when its the opposite of Facebook, Snapchat or Instagram. This regrettable nugget makes no sense outside the mind of its creators. Some apps serve to fill a need in the marketplace, others improve on existing platforms. This app actually does the opposite by transporting you back to 2002 with.... wait for it, low-res animated gifs. I can actually feel myself getting dumber using it.
"Thousands of users" is an over generous claim. What I have seen are the same "insta-gifs" featuring the same tired group of friends from Hollywood who are on the Hotspot payroll trying to prop up this app as something cool and exclusive. Staged event locales of no interest are hardly noteworthy compounded by self indulgent, socialite wannabes making the ever classy duck lips equals an awkward app that struggles for relevance. I would recommend downloading AOLs instant Messenger from a floppy disc before recommending this regrettable little app to you.
